Do you have the chops to create a tech mecca? Yesterday, the Brooklyn Tech Triangle coalition—led by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, DUMBO Improvement District, and Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp—issued an RFP for a multi-disciplinary team (perhaps the CRE Avengers?) to create an area-wide master plan, all while dealing with physical constraints, transportation, and infrastructure. Why it’s needed: The tech sector in Brooklyn employs over 9,600 people and generated $3.1B of economic output, which is poised to double over the next three years, according to the coalition. Above are DBP prez Tucker Reed, DUMBO BID chair Tom Montvel-Cohen, and BNYDC prez Andrew Kimball. You better hurry back from the beach: An info session to learn more will be held July 20 at DBP’s office; proposals are due Aug. 10.
