May 12, 2011
Kicking off their new alliance, The Retail Network and The New York City Clothing Bank partnered to sponsor a Mother’s Day Event at the NYCCB Clothing Warehouse at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Brooklyn this past Saturday. The clothing bank has been the only program in New York City to distribute new apparel, toys and other goods to help New Yorkers in need. Over a dozen volunteers from TRN helped more than 100 low-income and homeless single- mother families celebrate their special day, including: Rosenbaum Consulting's Lee Rosenbaum, Danielle Siano, Advisory Board of the NYC Clothing Bank chair Mary Lanning, Sabre Real Estate's Jayson Siano, Kimco Realty's Joshua Weinkranz and Meryl Weinkranz. |
Last week, Contractors for Kids, a non-profit which financially supports families of seriously ill children, held Foodies For A Cause in Huntington, Long Island. Over 400 people attended the event, which featured foods and wine provided by top Long Island restaurants and wineries and BBQ ribs and side dishes from celebrity chef Marc Anthony Bynum. CFK was co-founded in ’05 by Stalco Construction principal Kevin Harney and prez Alan Nahmias, and has raised $2.2M since its inception, allowing the non-profit to assist nearly 200 families of children in need of surgeries, long-term medical care, and therapy.
