Durst Party
November 19, 2009
We also dropped by The Durst Org.’s One Bryant Park for a broker party to view the last big piece of retail left in the building. Durst leasing SVP Tom Bow tells us the second-floor 10k-SF space, which also includes 1.4k-SF on the ground floor, was designed with a restaurant in mind (although, they’ll consider other tenants). There’s certainly plenty of traffic—3.9M SF of tenants between the building and Durst’s neighboring 4 Times Square, Charlie Palmer’s Aureole restaurant below, and the 9k people who see Bye, Bye Birdie weekly at Henry Miller’s Theatre downstairs. It even has 25-foot high ceilings. |
We snapped Okada International Corp.’s Naomi Okada, Valensi Realty’s Jack Valensi, and Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Joe Aquino. Joe and Faith Hope Consolo recently closed a deal for Kimaya, the leading fashion house of India, which is bringing a unique retail concept to 4.5k SF at 717 Madison. The Mumbai-based retailer will be featuring 110 designers in couture fashion, evening wear, bridal, jewelry and accessories in the multi-level boutique, which is housed in a townhouse situated between 63rd and 64th Sts. and neighbors like Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and Hermès. |
