EVERYONE LOVES NEW YORK
March 15, 2010
Although NYC’s economic struggles are not unique, people still want do business here, says new Cassidy Turley managing director Peter Ruggiero, who leads the firm’s Capital Markets Investment Services Group. Once financing comes back, NYC will be one of the first to rebound, as prices have already adjusted. The three-decade market veteran (he previously worked for Colliers International and Prudential Real Estate Investors) also tells us to watch for a change in how the major brokerage firms do business. It will be subtle, but expect more companies to shift from a national approach to a global approach, following client demand—those that understand this will grow and thrive when the recession ends. Cassidy Turley itself recently partnered with London-based GVA Grimley, which was looking for the same international reach and was the right match, he adds. |
