FROM FACTORY TO FABULOUS
October 6, 2011
Bisnow recently met with Prudential's Lynn DeCastro, snapped at her firm's 222-key (plus 5,000 SF of meeting space) Ink48 hotel, which is managed by boutique operator Kimpton and opened at 11th and 48th two years ago. An old printing plant, it was stripped to the shell. The building's restaurant is called Print and an upstairs lounge is known as Press; its former industrial life also shows in its unique design and spacious guest rooms. |
From its western Manhattan perch, rooftop bar visitors can look toward Times Square (above) and over the Hudson to Jersey City, where Prudential and Roseland Property recently completed two 50-story towers with 524 luxury apartments called The Monaco. Lynn says lease-up is going well and is already at 80% occupancy. |
