Over 30 associates from Planned Cos recently spent an entire daycleaning Newark’s oldest school, Lafayette Street School, from top to bottom as part of its “Go Green” initiative, which focuses on using less toxic, non-corrosive, biodegradable cleaning products. (Planned has implemented this new cleaning system in the majority of the buildings in which it provides janitorial and maintenance services.) CEO Rob Francis says the firm, which has been around since 1898, started off as window cleaners and janitors in Newark and has since grown to one of the largest janitorial, maintenance, security, and concierge firms in the Northeast. The pre K-to-8th grade school opened in 1848 and consists of four structures. The main building still boasts original Tiffany windows in its auditorium. |
