Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani (in Houston last week for a Bracwell & Giuliani partners meeting) sat down with Bisnow Energyreporter Greg Miller (inside a mall photo booth, it seems). He believes wind or solar could be viable for commercial properties in 30 or 40 years, during which time a way of storing energy will come along. "If the wind does not blow, then nothing happens, and when the sun is not out, we can’t get any energy." Those technologies are ideas right now, he says, but "we shouldn’t give up on them." As for retrofitting, he admits he doesn't know details but says his bias is that building owners should do that on their own. "There is enough regulation, government interference, and government oversight." |
