Since 1988, Colliers International’s Richard Warshauer and Herzfeld & Rubin’s James Kaplan have hosted an annual Lower Manhattan walking tour to commemorate the Great Crash of 1929, the Panic of 1907, and the 1987 stock market collapse. It’s always rain or shine, but this year, Mother Nature threw in a twist to show she’s just asvolatile as Wall Street. Richard sent us this photo of tour participants walking past Delmonico’s in the snow on Oct. 29—the most white stuff we’ve seen in October since Central Park began keeping records in 1869. (Which, incidentally, is the same year we had aBlack Friday due to the collapse of the US gold market.) |
