| We hope Robert Garrity got some sleep because he was also at yesterday morning’s AREW breakfast seminar on the greening of 515 Madison; he spoke, as did Newmark Knight Frank’s Eric Gural, and TSC Design Associates’ Steve Bitterman, here with NKF’s Robin Fisher and Rhodes Associates’ Jane Lyons. We couldn’t make it, but AREW sent highlights: Eric says pursuing LEED certification came down to a decision to do the right thing; he acknowledges that tenants have the economic advantage in negotiations and can demand landlords use sustainable and environmentally safe products for build outs. Robert spoke about choices in sustainable wood, modular furniture, and cost efficiency in installations. |
