HAUNTED HAPPENINGS
Brixmor Property Group's David Gerstenhaber, Sholom & Zuckerbrot's Doug Weinstein, Realty Insight's Neil Schorr, Colin Development's Celine Arsac and Edward Glackin, NAI Long Island's Susan Sievers, and Realty Insight's Rachel Butiu
On Thursday, we dropped by The Retail Network's spooky fête at The Woodlands in Woodbury, Long Island, where Tri-State retail gurus networked and raised money for the New York City ClothingBank. There, we snapped Brixmor Property Group's David Gerstenhaber, Sholom & Zuckerbrot's Doug Weinstein, Realty Insight's Neil Schorr, Colin Development's Celine Arsac andEdward Glackin, NAI Long Island's Susan Sievers, and Realty Insight's Rachel Butiu among the 225 guests. Doug tells us that he just repped Men's Wearhouse in a 9,000 SF lease at Brooklyn Junction, and the store should open by year's end. (Peter Botsarisrepped owner Triangle Equities.) As you can see, the most popular costume that night was real estate pro.
Mercury Solar Systems' Stephen Owen, Welco Realty, Jason Gerbsman, L. Peres & Associates' Len Peres
Is Mercury Solar Systems' Stephen Owen saying: “Go solar or Welco Realty's Jason Gerbsman gets it?” L. Peres & Associates' Len Peres seems assured there'd be no bloodshed (all you have to do is bribe Stephen with a Snickers bar). He tells us his firm and Welco are working together on two shopping centers in New Jersey; 135k SF in Passaic and 160k in Bloomfield, both grocery-anchored and scheduled for 2014 delivery. Jason adds that Welco is also leasing up 40k SF on Austin Street in Forest Hills, perfect for a high-end department store.
Bohler Engineering's Joe Deal, Sabre Real Estate's Stu Fagen, Kimco's Joshua Weinkranz, Super Mario Brothers' Mario, Party City's Doug Calvin, and Sabre's Jayson Siano.
Bohler Engineering's Joe Deal, Sabre Real Estate's Stu Fagen, Kimco's Joshua Weinkranz, Super Mario Brothers' Mario, Party City's Doug Calvin, and Sabre's Jayson Siano. Jayson looks surprisingly awake, considering that he has both a new firm (which he recently launched with Ken Breslin) and a new baby (five-week-old Jax will be dressing as Superman today). Mario is currently looking for work, having both plumbing and demolition experience.
Inwood Halloween Festival at 5030 Broadway
On Friday, Edison Properties (in partnership with Everyday Church, Inwood Church, and The Manhattan Times) held the third annual Inwood Halloween Festival at 5030 Broadway. Over 600neighborhood children and parents attended the event, which included carnival games set up in the open retail space, entertainment by the Super Sprouts, and lots of candy and goodies from the office tenants. Local politicians, including deputy borough president Rose Pierre-Louis and Senator Adriano Espaillat, also stopped by.
Howard Ecker + Co hand-painted pumpkins
Howard Ecker + Co is handing out unique treats today—but not to children. Instead, the tenant rep and consulting firm is delivering these glittering hand-painted pumpkins of the New York skyline to its clients (with fewer cavities, too). Happy Halloween!
