Broadway babies, you’ll soon have another place to say goodnight:Marriott International and Granite Broadway Development announced 1717 Broadway, slated to be New York’s tallest stand-alone hotel. The 68-story tower, designed by Nobutaka Ashihara, will include a 378-room Courtyard by Marriott for biz and leisure travelers and a 261-room Residence Inn by Marriott for longer Big Apple stays. Also planned: ground-floor retail, a second-floor restaurant, and a fifth-floor lounge and terrace overlooking Broadway. The hotel is slated to open late ’13 and will be managed by Interstate Hotels and Resorts. |
