Hot Fun in the Summertime
Kimco Realty's Josh Weinkranz, Sholom & Zuckerbrot's Doug Weinstein, CBRE's Jayson Siano, Jimmy Jazz's Jason Richter, Energy Kitchen'sBrooke Auberry, and Modell's Douglas Epstein
With real estate noticeably much slower in the few weeks preceding Labor Day, we dropped by Brooklyn's Dyker Beach Golf Course Thursday to see how the retail industry was doing. (There was actually an event planned—we don't assume we'll always find you there.) We snapped this of ICSC Next Generation and The Retail Network members: Kimco Realty's Josh Weinkranz, Sholom & Zuckerbrot's Doug Weinstein, CBRE's Jayson Siano, Jimmy Jazz's Jason Richter, Energy Kitchen's Brooke Auberry, and Modell's Douglas Epstein. Even though they're on the green, retail expansion is their real game: Josh just signed several big boxes in the area, including Target, Kohl's, and Aldi; Jayson brokered LifeTime Fitness to 115k in Syosset, its first Long Island location;Energy Kitchen opened five locations in the past month; and Jimmy Jazz and its related stores are on a 18-state, 30-store opening spree. This wasn't only a real estate event, but quite a large bachelor party for Jayson, who's getting married over Labor Day weekend—congrats!
Centro Properties' David Gerstenhaber, Alan T. Kramer PC's Alan Kramer, Acadia Realty Trust's Josh Guthartz, R.J. Brunelli & Co.'s Bill Lenaz, Sholom & Zuckerbrot's Marc Durst, and R.J. Brunelli's Rich Brunelli
Among the 100 attendees for golf and dinner: Centro Properties'David Gerstenhaber, Alan T. Kramer PC's Alan Kramer, Acadia Realty Trust's Josh Guthartz, R.J. Brunelli & Co.'s Bill Lenaz, Sholom & Zuckerbrot's Marc Durst, and R.J. Brunelli namesake Rich Brunelli. David was just promoted to director of national accounts at Centro, which owns many shopping centers in the area, including Long Island and Westchester.

The retailers weren't the only ones having fun—YMWREA also had its annual summer outing, with 200 members and friends descending on Old Oaks Country Club in Purchase for golf, tennis, and leisure by the pool. The theme of this year's outing was "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame," and what would be the outing without some music? Of course, it was real estate related—Newmark Knight Frank president Jimmy Kuhn's band Square Feet played for two hours during the cocktail reception and dinner.
