LAST NIGHT AT REBNY’S INGENIOUS AWARDS
April 29, 2009
Bisnow was on hand at 101 Park last night as REBNY announced the winners of the 2008 “Most Ingenious Commercial Deal of the Year” awards. And it had quite a list of nominees, each with the special recognition of being able to complete a major transaction in this tumultuous market. (More photos from last night). |
And the winners (drum roll, please): Second-place Robert T. Lawrence Award winners Bill Shanahan and Darcy Stacom of CB Richard Ellis, for the sales of the GM Building, 767 Fifth, 540 Madison, 125 W. 55th, and 2 Grand Central Tower; third-place Edward S. Gordon Award winner Shawn Rosenthal of Ackman-Ziff, for financing 650 Madison; presenter Woody Heller of Studley; and first-place Henry Hart Rice Award winners Jack Cohen, Paul Glickman, and Mitch Konsker, for leasing the 560k-SF 636 Eleventh to Ogilvy & Mather. |
Rudin Management Co.’s Bill Rudin, CBRE’s Mitch Rudin, and Fried Frank’s Jon Mechanic with CBRE’s Michael Laginestra, who was one of the night’s nominees for Viacom’s 1.3M-SF renewal at 1515 Broadway, along with colleagues Scott Gottlieb and Andrew Sussman. Catch Bill, Jon, and other top names at Deepdale Golf Club on May 18th for the Lew Rudin Charity Golf Classic, which supports The First Tee of Metropolitan New York and gives its young golfers a shot at a four-year scholarship to NYU. |
Ackman-Ziff’s Larry Ackman, Patrick Hanlon, and Jason Kane with award winner Shawn (second from right). Larry and Patrick are both past winners, and Patrick has another recent accomplishment to announce - the birth of his second child, Bridget. Congrats! |
CBRE’s Phil Palmer and Ed Goldman flank Cushman & Wakefield’s Suzy Reingold. Ed, along with colleagues Steve Siegel and Bruce Weinberg, was nominated for leasing 380 Madison to the United Nations. Suzy cheered on winners Jack, Paul, and Mitch, as well as C&W nominees Joseph Cabrera, Josh Kuriloff, and Jonathan Serko. |
The awards’ judges: Eastern Consolidated’s Peter Hauspurg, Grubb & Ellis’ Vincent Carrega, Hines’ Thomas Craig, and Paul, Weiss’Steve n Simkin. Fifth judge Andy Stone of Petra Capital Management was unable to make the event. Maybe he was out making next year’s ingenious deal. |
REBNY’s Eileen Spinola, CBRE’s Mary Ann Tighe, Eastern Consolidated’s Peter Hauspurg, REBNY’s Steve Spinola, and Studley’s Woody Heller. Mary Ann was also honored for her professional and philanthropic contributions earlier yesterday at The Realty Foundation of New York’s annual luncheon, where industry vet Jerry L. Cohen and Atco Properties’ Dale Hemmerdinger also stepped into the new respective roles of chairman and president. |
