MORE DISTRESS?
October 31, 2011
Jack-o-lantern development took a hard hit this year, thanks to the numerous storms that affected the East Coast's pumpkin crops. Buthaunted-house construction is on the upswing as fewer people can afford the materials needed to fix creaky floors and drafty windows, according to the newest report from the New York Boo-lding Congress. |
Boo-lding Congress exec director Frank N. Stein says predicted declines in construction spending and employment in the coming years will further bolster the haunted house sector, which drew cheers from the affordable housing action group led by I.B. Spider. âThe arachnids particularly look forward to occupying Wall Street condos, which had been out of reach for 99% of us,â he said in a statement. But we're sure New York Building Congress' Richard Anderson will have something to add to that at Bisnow's New York Construction & Development event this Wednesday at the NY Bar Association. He joins Tishman Construction's John Livingston, Columbia University's Joseph Ienuso, Con Edison's David Pospisil, and Tarter Krinsky & Drogin's David Pfeffer to discuss the latest trends. Great schmoozing, too! Sign up here. |
