MORNING COMMUTE
August 15, 2012
Speakers at the Professional Women in Construction transportation forum at the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen conference had actionable info worth passing on. NJ Transit exec director James Weinstein (second from right) says his organization will advertise $35M in contracts for bus garage improvements and train station work through the end of the year. Meanwhile, Hilary Ring (to the left of James) has to cut $2B from the MTA's $24B capital program. Projects up for bid in the 2010 to 2014 program (7 line extension, Second Avenue line, and East Side Access), though, are fully funded.
