F.J. Sciame Construction Co.'s Frank Sciame, NYU SCPS dean Robert Lapiner, Kenneth Schack
Last night, we joined Rich Uncle Pennybags and the NYU Schack Institute at the Cooper Square Hotel for the VIP kickoff of its planned Sept. 22 Monopoly Night, a dinner and game event to raise money exclusively for the Institute's programs (its goal: $250k). This year's Honorary Banker of the Evening is F.J. Sciame Construction Co. CEO Frank Sciame (with NYU SCPS dean Robert Lapiner and institute namesake Kenneth Schack), who built the hotel (presumably after building four houses). We know he's the perfect fit for a fun evening: His current projects include Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island, an 8k-seat outdoor theater in Coney Island, an ice skating rink at Prospect Park, and the renovations at City Center building on W. 56th St. Past Honorary Bankers have included Donald Trump, Harry Macklowe, Bruce Mosler, and Larry Silverstein.

BlackRock's Larry Palumbo, CBRE's' Shelly Cohen, Young Woo & Associates' Andrew Kim, Fried Frank's Jonathan Mechanic, and Emmes Group's Amy Sole. Jonathan says the annual event is a great way to connect and talk deals, but we're more interested in the cutthroat gameplay—after all, trading, mortgaging, and housing and hotel construction run our industry (and we hear Larry's pretty good). A tip we collected on the ‘net: Illinois Avenue, New York Avenue,B&O Railroad, and Reading Railroad are the most frequently landed-upon properties, while the dark purple Mediterranean and Baltic Avenues are the least.
