Paul Tudor Jones Falls for 51 Astor Place
Paul Tudor Jones II's $13B hedge fund, Tudor Investment Corporation, has leased 25K SF of office space at 51 Astor Place in Manhattan's East Village. The fund will pay more than $100 per square foot in rent in the 10-year deal. Developer Edward Minskoff's much-publicized spec office tower positioned itself as a TAMI sector magnet but had some trouble getting off the ground, despite Twitter at one point eyeing space in the 400K glass monolith.
Now, IBM occupies 120K SF in the $1B property, which is reportedly fully leased. Tudor will move into the 11th floor, just below the penthouse perch taken by Carlyle Group subsidiary Claren Road Asset Management.
