REBNY REVELERS
May 9, 2012
Also last week, we dropped by REBNY's Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Awards, where we snapped REBNY prez Steve Spinola, first lady Eileen Spinola, and Ackman-Ziff prez Simon Ziff. May and June are packed with REBNY events, including the Retail Deal of the Year awards and the Downtown Committee rental market roundtable discussion this Friday morning. Behind the scenes, REBNY is focusing on getting J-51 extended in Albany, along with some modifications to 421a and a push for a fairer tax assessment process. REBNY’s Commercial Board of Directors is also nearing completion of a commercial designation course, which will launch in January and give member brokers additional accreditation and education. |
Centerline Capital Group's Chad Musgrove, Boston Properties regional manager Robert Selsam, and Fried Frank real estate chair Jonathan Mechanic celebrate CBRE Tri-State CEO Mary Ann Tighe’s Robert T. Lawrence Award (along with CBRE vice chair Gregory Tosko) for Condé Nast’s 1M SF lease at One World Trade Center. Jonathan was a vicarious winner: Fried Frank managed to touch all three deals that won, including Tishman Speyer’s sale of Two Gotham Center. After all that dealmaking, he relaxed by playing tennis at the John McEnroe Center at Sportime on Randall’s Island over the weekend. |
Prudential Douglas Elliman Retail Group EVP Joseph Aquino and chairman Faith Hope Consolo had plenty of their own deals to share with Cushman & Wakefield global brokerage chair Bruce Mosler. They were award nominees for the five-day sale of the Felissimo townhouse to Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim and have recently begun repositioning yet another blockfront, this time on Fifth Avenue between 15th and 16th streets. And congrats to Bruce, who along with Fisher Brothers senior partner Kenneth Fisher was just named co-chairman of the board for the Intrepid Museum. He’s served on the museum’s board since ’99. |
