Retail's Best
June 9, 2010
Last night, Club 101 was abuzz with retail pros for REBNY's annual Retail Deal of the Year awards, highlighting the Best of 2009. Above, Ripco Real Estate's Peter Ripka holds his award for the deal that âMost Significantly Benefits Manhattanâ—the leasing journey of the 475k SF East River Plaza, which turned a dilapidated manufacturing plant into a retail destination. (Joining him are Sierra Realty's Peter Braus, Northwest Atlantic's Chase Welles, Dallimore & Co.'s Simon Dallimore's Rob Nager, and Rudin Management Co.'s Louis Somoza.) He tells us that the property is now 95% leased, and expects the remaining 300k SF to deliver throughout the summer, including Target in July. The âMost Creative Deal of the Yearâ winner was Robert K. Futterman & Associates' Robert Futterman for bringing Discovery TSX and Bowlmor Lanes to The Times Square Building at 229 W. 43rd. |
