STARS COME OUT
December 9, 2009
Yesterday, we joined a packed Hilton Grand Ballroom for the New York Women’s Agenda’s 18th Star Awards, which celebrates the NYWA’s coalition of women professionals and community activists. And who better represents women’s voices than Gloria Steinem and Elinor Guggenheimer Lifetime Achievement award winner Jane Fonda? Here, Gloria presents the award to her friend, almost five decades after they first met in NYC in their 20s. Also in attendance were co-emcees journalist Roz Abrams and model/author Emme Aronson, as well as NY first lady Michelle Paige Paterson. |
Women like Gloria and Jane paved the way for females to become business leaders—and real estate’s no exception. We snapped Professional Women in Construction prez Lenore Janis, NYCREW prez Liz Muskat of Ferzan Robbin & Associates, and PWC VP Lina Gottesman of Altus Metal & Marble Services at the event. NYWA agendas includes economic empowerment, pay equity, arts in education, housing, ending domestic violence. |
