Sponsor Spotlight: The Retail Network
October 7, 2010
When people are able to let their hair down and network with fellow executives in a laid-back environment, a different type of relationship develops—stronger, long-lasting ones, says Bohler Engineering’s Joe Deal and CBRE’s Jayson Siano, respective president and VP of The Retail Network. The networking group is hosting its seventh event since its ‘08 inception, bringing hundreds of retail and related executives to Chateau Briand in Westbury, Long Island next Thursday for its annual fall networking event. There's nothing more relaxing than a cruise, and thus a nautical theme for the evening was born. Like sailing on the seas, you’re not rushing to give everyone your elevator pitch in five minutes, they say—and color-coded name tags help you find the right people for your business. They tell us that TRN strongly believes that the informal approach to networking drives its success. |
Just ask the following members about past events. Joe met Retail Acquisition Advisors’ Neill Kelly, and now the two are working on a pad site development on Long Island. Jayson and CBRE colleague Dean Rosenzweig also connected Joe to event sponsor Submarina California Subs, and they assisted the sandwich shop in opening two locations. Schuckman Realty’s Evan Schuckman landed a T-Mobile franchise account. Pliskin Realty’s Greg Batista completed deals for client Sally Beauty with Kimco Realty and Centro Properties. JLL’s Bill Miller and Retail Zone’s Mitch Weiss inked a T-Mobile corporate deal. Saugatuck Commercial’s Penny Wickey met Kimco’s Josh Weinkranz, and has since repped Kimco on a few of its CT assets. And Jayson connected client Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza to Ferrandino & Sons Contractors, which is just wrapping up the build-out for Anthony’s first Long Island restaurant in Carle Place.
