THEY WANT GREEN
Investors, shareholders, and tenants are demanding sustainability measures and carbon disclosures, which has encouraged Vornado to green its portfolio—11.5M SF, over half of its NY portfolio, is certified LEED-EB, says corporate sustainability VP Suki Paciorek, who's speaking at Bisnow’s NY Sustainability Summit on June 17.

And Vornado’s not stopping at buildings like One Penn Plaza and 1290 Avenue of the Americas—it still has lots of work ahead, including a five-year goal of slashing energy costs in common areas, Suki tells us. Tenants, particularly large law firms and corporate users, increasingly ask about LEED, Energy Star, and energy efficiency, “so we’re going to make sure our program is robust. Regulations and the market are helping us move forward.” Want to hear more about how Vornado’s pushing the envelope? Join Suki, CodeGreen Solutions’ Christopher Cayten, Jonathan Rose Cos’Nathan Taft, CBRE’s David Pogue, Malkin Properties’ Tom Durels, Con Ed’s David Pospisil, TLR Energy’s Michael Thaler, Israel Berger & Associates/Viridian Energy & Environmental’s John Hannum, SL Green’s Jay Black, RREEF’s Patty Connolly, and WSP Flack+Kurtz’s David Choy to green your knowledge.
