TODAY'S SIBLINGS
April 7, 2010
At noon today we snapped the Gansevoort at 9th Avenue and 13th in the Meatpacking District, to get you in the right frame of mind: This summer, get ready for its new NYC sister: the Gansevoort Park, at Park and 29th in Murray Hill, set to do a soft opening by August and be in full swing for the fall. 249 rooms compared to 187 at the original, but both equally hip (especially now that the original is re-doing its lobby to include a new café.) |
And no sooner did we turn around than our eye caught the new Dos Caminos âmodern Mexicanâ restaurant next door, which corporate executive chef Scott Linguist, above, tells us opens on Monday with 240 seats, including 100 on what he says will be the coolest outdoor patio in Manhattan (behind him). Of course the restaurant, with other locations including across from the soon-to-be Gansevoort Park, is known for its 120 brands of tequila, including the Milagro Silver that goes into its famed house margarita. Good enough for Barry Sternlicht, whose Starwood Capital Partners owns half the parent company. |
