The Maccabee Foundation's Good Deed in Great Neck

Call it mitzvah madness: The Maccabee Foundation’s 20th anniversary poker tournament at Temple Israel of Great Neck at 5pm on Feb. 9, benefits scholarships for students of Iranian origin who’ve completed service in the Israeli army and are studying (or are aspiring to study) at higher education institutions in Israel. The shindig includes dinner and open bar, and the top prize is a brand-new Rolex Daytona (other prizes include Apple products and flat-screen TVs). With this amazing night, The Maccabee Foundation enters its third decade, and a portion of the proceeds are going to Israel’s Tiferet Shlomo orphanage.
