The Revitalizer
October 28, 2010
Speaking of neighborhood transformation, B’nai B’rith Real Estate Unit recently invited Goldman Properties’ Tony Goldman, who specializes in recognizing the value in and transforming depressed, undervalued urban and declining historic districts—like the Upper West Side, Financial District, and SoHo—to speak at its Cornell Club luncheon. Tony (third from left, with The Ben-Dor Group’s Arie Ben-Dor, Sklar Realty Group’s Lydia Sklar, Sholom & Zuckerbrot’s Frank Zuckerbrot, Chelsea Capital’s Daniel Shahrabani, Hofheimer Gartlir & Gross’ Jerry Morganstern, and Zlokower Co.’s Harry Zlokower), says what attracts him to an area is its history, potential, financial viability, and whether it gives him the passion to see development through to completion. Recently, much of his attention has been aimed toward Miami’s Wynwood warehouse district, but locally notes that Newark could be the next big neighborhood. He also has his eye on Rockaway, Queens. |
