Three Game-Changing Retail Spots
When you think of Manhattan retail real estate, you think Robert Futterman and his firm's 700k SF of exclusive brokerage assignments, so we invited Robert himself to Bisnow'sNY Retail Summit coming up this Friday. (We'd love to have you, too--sign up here). As a preview, here are theareas he's most excited to watch.
1) Bowery
Robert says the Bowery is up-and-coming with lots of large-scale product available and foot traffic on both weekdays and weekends. In fact, he's got a pending exclusive gig there that he says will be a game-changer.
2) Seaport
Downtown, WTC and Brookfield Place are doing all kinds of cool things, he says, but he's most excited about the completely "different identity" Howard Hughes Corp plans for Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport.
3) Hudson Yards
First occupancy is Q1 '18, but it's not too soon for Related and Oxford to be shopping for an anchor tenant for the 750k SF of retail planned for 10th Avenue between 31st and 33rd streets, Robert says. And once that happens, he's pumped to watch the dominoes fall.(By 2018, we're guessing either a Google store or Blockbuster Hoverboards.)
