UP ON THE ROOF
October 12, 2011
We hope the residents of the 480-unit Symphony House rental apartment building at 235 W 56th St have been using the warmer weather to their advantage. Owner Jack Resnick & Sons recently completed a 12k SF green roof on its ninth-floor setback, which was underused and had a 25-year-old roof that needed to be replaced (that's as old as Lady Gaga). In addition to pavers, planting areas, seating areas, and a brand new children's playroom and tenant meeting room on the same floor, the FXFOWLE-designed roof also has storm water retention and heat insulation features. Rally Restoration built and installed the roof, while Plant Fantasiesprovided the landscaping. |
