Last night, Bisnow was on hand for the Professional Women in Construction’s “Meet the Construction Chiefs” event at 101 Park, where attendees got the chance to mingle with and hear some of NYC’s top names in construction. Here, PWC president Lenore Janis, right, introduces her speakers to us: NYC Department of Environmental Protection’s Steven Lawitts, Roosevelt Island Operating Corp.’s Rosina Abramson, NYC School Construction Authority’s George Toma, Port Authority’s James Starace, and MTA’s Michael Horodniceanu.

George with Deborah Bradley Construction’s Deborah Bradley, NYCSCA’s Robin Wilcox, and Henegan Construction’s Maureen Henegan and Arthur Thomson. Maureen’s firm, which Arthur says is the largest woman-owned construction company in NYC, is currently working on projects for UBS, AXA, and Goldman Sachs.

IBEX Construction’s William Fife and Bill Brody with consultant Eve Michel. William and colleague Andy Frankl are the token PWC male board members, he jokes. He’s currently working with the American Society of Civil Engineers on a NYC infrastructure report card. The Port Authority and AECOM vet says we haven’t invested money in infrastructure properly over the years— we’re almost afraid to see the grade.
