Brooklyn Brewery Brewhouse, 3M SF of Warehouse Space Coming to Staten Island
Staten Island Marine Development, owner of a vast property along Staten Island's western shore that represents the largest privately held industrial site in NYC, is pushing ahead with a major redevelopment. And there will be beer. Lots of it. It plans to add 3M SF of warehouse space to the redevelopment, which will include a new home for Brooklyn Brewery. The SIMD site covers more than 670 acres; freight rail lines run through it, allowing for the possibility of convenient shipping options for future tenants, reports The Real Deal. The plan is to redevelop half of the site in two phases through 2020. Brooklyn Brewery's move to the western side of New York Harbor will allow it to construct a 440K SF brew house, including an indoor, 300-seat restaurant, an events space and a beer garden as well as a retail component. The brewery’s current home in Williamsburg, 79 N 11th St, has been placed on the market and is expected to sell for $50M. [TRD]
