Mitti Liebersohn Joins Avison Young as NY President
Avison Young’s new NYC president, Mitti Liebersohn, is leaving Mitchell Konsker’s leasing team at JLL even though the two have been friends since meeting in Hebrew School on Long Island. They left Cushman & Wakefield together to join JLL in 2011, but now they’ll be competitors. Will repeat clients be more loyal to the firm or the man? That’s a question posed in a Wall Street Journal article that came out Sunday. As Mitti told Bisnow last week, one reason he’s excited about the new gig is that he and his new boss, Avison Young tri-state president Arthur Mirante, go back to their Cushman days. Mitti tells the Journal he’ll honor his agreement not to solicit JLL brokers, but said they might reach out to him. As for being the guy clients stick with, he tells the Journal: “I hope I can be that person.” [WSJ]
