NBA superstar Kevin Durant may have spurned the New York Knicks to sign with the Brooklyn Nets this summer, but he's headquartering his business on the Manhattan side of the East River.

Thirty Five Ventures, the business Durant co-founded with his business partner, Rich Kleiman, is setting up a new headquarters in West Chelsea. The company is leasing 4,500 SF at 112 Seventh Ave., a new, boutique office building being developed by Aurora Capital Associates, A&H Acquisitions and Extell Development. The space in the penthouse will span an entire floor, and asking rents were not disclosed.

“Thirty Five Ventures will occupy the entire penthouse in a beautiful new building with a private lobby, elevator and 3K SF exclusive roof deck in the heart of Chelsea," said Newmark Knight Frank broker Todd Stracci, who, along with his colleague, Hal Stein, represented Thirty Five Ventures. "This is a full-building identity appropriate for the company’s business and media presence. We were fortunate to secure such a unique development opportunity in a highly competitive submarket.”

JLL Vice President Brett Harvey represented the landlords in the deal. Durant's business will have access to a roof deck at the property.

Thirty Five Ventures — named for Durant's uniform number — owns multiple businesses, including a basketball-themed scripted series called Swagger with Imagine Entertainment and Apple and an equity partnership with audio company Master & Dynamic. The company also produces a show with ESPN called The Boardroomin which Durant and Kleiman have conversations with business leaders and other athletes.

Durant, who won two championships with the Golden State Warriors, signed with the Nets over the summer, locking down a $164M, four-year contract. He infamously tore his Achilles tendon in the NBA Finals last year, and is expected to miss the entirety of the 2019-2020 NBA season.

To date, he has earned $190.2M in base salary over his 12-year NBA career, according to Basketball-Reference, and he is in the midst of a $300M, 10-year shoe contract with Nike.
