S.I.’s Biggest landowner Wants Teleport Sites
Staten Island’s biggest landowner, Richard Nicotra, is looking to buy two sites at the Teleport business park. Nicotra and his wife Lois launched their real estate empire when they looked for a HQ for their yogurt chain, Everything Yogurt, in the late ‘80s. Now they own about 1M SF on the island. The Economic Development Corp is expected to ask for redevelopment proposals for the sites soon, Crain’s reports, and manufacturing’s reportedly what they want it used for. If the Nicotras get the land, they’ll be going it alone. “We have no partners,” Richard tells Crain’s. “Partners are for dancing.” [Crain’s]
