ABC Weighs Building A New HQ In Hudson Square
ABC is reportedly thinking of building a brand-new campus on a development site at 4 Hudson Square.
The site is owned by Trinity Church, the New York Post reports, and is bound by Hudson, Varick, Vandam and Spring streets.
In total, the site could hold up to 1.2M SF, and includes an office building on the western end at 304 Hudson St. The office building, which spans 300K SF, could have more stories added to it under a 2013 rezoning, according to the Post.
“They are looking at that property site and others with the criteria that it’s the best building to meet their 21st-century technology needs,” a spokesperson for ABC's owner, Walt Disney Co., told the Post.
Silverstein Properties is reportedly under contract to pay in excess of $1B for ABC’s campus on the Upper West Side. The deal with Disney would see Silverstein acquiring several buildings along West 66th Street between Central Park and Columbus Avenue.
ABC would lease the space back from Silverstein, according to the Post, until a new campus is available.
