One Of The Main Forces Behind Extell's Developments Is Forming His Own Firm
The man behind some of Extell Development’s biggest projects is striking out on his own.
Dov Hertz left Extell to form his own real estate investment firm, DH Property Holding, with Meadow Partners’ Aaron Malitzy. The firm has received equity funds and the backing of a currently undisclosed real estate family, The Real Deal reports.
Over his 13 years at Extell, Dov was known for his skill in assemblage—stealthily buying land piecemeal in order to amass a larger development site at cheaper prices—helping Gary Barnett acquire the land for One57 (pictured), One Manhattan Square and the International Gem Tower.
Prior to Extell, Dov was a commercial broker at Eastern Consolidated. Gary’s nephew, Abba Barnett, will fill Hertz’s position. Dov has insisted the move is unrelated to anything happening at Extell. [TRD]
