Kathryn Welch Is Leaving Forest City Ratner After A 30-Year Stint
Forest City Ratner’s Kathryn Welch is leaving after more than 30 years. It’s not yet clear where she’ll end up after the move.
Kathryn served as an EVP and director of retail at Forest City for the past four and a half years, the Commercial Observer reports. We snapped her above, on the right, along with Eastern Consolidated's Brad Cohen, Hidrock Properties' Steven Hidary, Heritage Equity Partners CEO Toby Moskovits and Acadia Realty Trust's Chris Cohen at a Bisnow event.
She’s been responsible for the “New York operating portfolio which includes Atlantic Center, Atlantic Terminal, EastRiver Plaza and 14 other projects throughout New York City,” according to her LinkedIn profile. “Also spearheading Ridge Hill development in Westchester County and responsible for all site acquisitions and project renovations in New York City.”
During the preceding 26 years Kathryn served as Forest City’s leasing rep for several retail projects around the country, including Ballston Common in Arlington, VA, Short Pump Town Center in Richmond, VA, The Village at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, FL, and others.
The move comes as Forest City is moving forward on several big projects in NYC, most notable its Pacific Park (formerly Atlantic Yards) mega-development and Cornell Tech's new campus. [CO]
