Trump Hotel Collection’s Next Steps
Ivanka Trump (whom we snapped yesterday at the NYU hotel conference) was four when she'd climb into the car with her brothers and father to check out Dad’s development projects. She was the same age when Dad (you know him as Donald) first started sending her memos about his projects. After a more formal education at Georgetown and Wharton, she joined The Trump Org in ’05, and a year later, the company launched the Trump Hotel Collection. Ivanka says the brand would like to own 30 hotels by 2020 (it’s got 12 now, including DC’s Old Post Office Building and properties in Rio and Vancouver, all opening in 2016), though the company won’t grow just for the sake of it.
We also snapped Savills Studley’s Tom Baker, Marc Magazine, Justin Magazine, and Vikram Shah one day after the Savills/Studley merger. They’ve kept up their dealmaking along the way with two DC hotel development sites on the market and are about to take a small portfolio of prime hotels to market.
We also spotted Hilton SVP of Americas f&b Tom Walters and powerhouse designer Rebecca Jones of RD Jones.
