Williamsburg Pod Hotel To Open Next Spring

Placeholder

New Yorkers are already used to packing themselves in small accommodations in exchange for location and amenities, and visitors to Brooklyn's hippest neighborhood will soon get the same chance.

BD Hotel’s 240-room pod-hotel at 626 Driggs Ave in Williamsburg is slated to open next spring with 10k SF of amenities, including private and public rooftops, a sidewalk café, three courtyards and NYC’s second Salvation Taco, Curbed reports.

Each room will be 100 SF and come with either a queen-sized bed or bunk beds, windows overlooking public spaces and bathrooms “enclosed with glass dividers to expand the visual dimensions of the room.” Prices are slated to start at $125 per night.

There will also be 16k SF of ground-floor retail, but details on what will occupy the space have been slim.

Developed by CBSK Ironstate and SK Development and designed by Garrison Architects, the 100k SF hotel was originally slated to open this year. The hotel’s prefabricated modules were designed on a BIM platform, produced in Poland, and arrived in Red Hook in May after a three-week, trans-Atlantic boat trip. [Curbed]
