Billionaire Sells Former Playboy Club
Green Oak Real Estate and Capstone Equities are buying the former Playboy Club (where Debbie Harry and Gloria Steinem both worked as bunnies) at 5 East 59th St for $85M, or about $1,700/SF. The seller is Groupo Victor Malzoni, a Brazilian investment group led by billionaire Paulo Malzoni. Playboy owned it until 1982. It’s an office building now, but the Post says that since it sits just off Fifth Ave, next to some of the top retail space in the city, it’ll likely be repositioned for retail with office above.
