Extell and Megalith File Plans for 300k SF Mixed-Use Project
Extell Development and Megalith Capital have filed plans with the city for a 25-story condo tower at 36 West 66th St. The BSF allowance will be about 300k SF, and it’ll have 160 units and 6k SF of ground-floor retail.
Extell picked up one of the sites in the assemblage for the new project, 44 West 66th St, for $44M in December of 2014, according to The Real Deal. That site was home to a synagogue, Congregation Habonim, which will have a 18k SF spread in the new building.
Megalith paid $85M for three buildings at 36-40 West 66th St and partnered earlier this year with Extell to get the project built. The deal that led to the full assemblage nabbed third place in REBNY’s Ingenious Deal of the Year award this year. [TRD]
