JDS/SHoP Unveil Plans For 77-Story Tower
Another massive tower project is in the works for the Two Bridges area.
JDS Development Group and SHoP Architects have unveiled plans for a 77-story, mixed-use tower at 247 Cherry St, a site next to the One Manhattan Square project from Extell. The tower is expected to include about 600 rental units, 150 of which will be set aside as affordable units, The Lo-Down reports.
Plans call for rental units that will range from studio to two-bedrooms, and up to 10k SF of commercial space. The affordable units will be spread throughout the tower, and not be segregated to their own section. Also on tap is a publicly accessible plaza to surround the new building, as well as other green spaces.
This is the latest tower project in the works from the duo of JDS and SHoP. They're also teaming up on a residential tower at 340 Flatbush Ave Ext in Downtown Brooklyn, the first NYC supertall outside of Manhattan. [LoDown]
