Brooklyn Prez Urges Affordable Housing at Brooklyn Army Terminal
Piggy-backing on Mayor de Blasio’s ambitious affordable housing plan, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams has issued a report that would turn Sunset Park's Brooklyn Army Terminal, city-owned parking lots in Bensonhurst and virtually any other salvageable acreage into new apartment buildings, Curbed reports.
Adams’ development mania would help de Blasio fulfill his goal of adding 200,000 low- and middle-income homes citywide, but reality might impinge on his dreams. Not only is the city already keen to turn the Sunset Park property into a manufacturing hub, other favored plots like the Broadway Triangle or Gowanus Green are mired in litigation or toxic runoff, according to Curbed.
