Jon Stewart Sells Tribeca Loft for $17.5M
Daily Show funny man Jon Stewart has sold his 6,000SF Tribeca penthouse for $17.5M in what was last week's most expensive NYC residential trade. He bought the unit for $5.8M in 2005. It also includes 2,000SF of outdoor space and 40 windows worth of city views, per the Times. Before a 2004 conversion to 24 celebrity-baiting loft apartments, the building at 161 Hudson Street housed Wetlands, a sorely missed jam band venue. Other stars that flocked to the repositioned building included NY Mets catcher Mike Piazza and the actor Jeremy Piven. The new owner used the LLC Kisban in the transaction.
