More from Bisnow’s Power Women Party

New York Multifamily

Our sold-out party to honor Bisnow New York’s inaugural class of the most powerful women in New York City commercial real estate wasn’t a boys-not-allowed affair. We snapped Citibank’s Laura Walker (NYCREW president) flanked by GFI Realty Services’ Louis Moskowitz and Taurus Investment Holdings’ Vince Cuminotto. And at right is Rippeteau Architects’ Darrel Rippeteau with son-in-law Hall Oster of Massey Knakal. Though Darrel is a well-known DC architect and Hall grew up in nearby Baltimore, Hall met his wife (Darrel’s daughter, Caroline) in 2005 farther north, on vacation along the Saint Lawrence River.

Hall tells us high demand and tight supply for UWS multifamily show the long-term viability of that submarket. Most opportunities come from long-term, family-owned properties, he says. He just arranged the $7.6M sale of the nine-unit 737 West End Ave with corner retail at 96th Street. And he’s marketing 324-236 108th between Riverside and Broadway, a commercial townhouse better suited for conversion to single-family or luxury condos.
