Condos In Kushner And LIVWRK's Austin Nichols House Will Hit The Market Soon
Condos at the Austin Nichols House on Williamsburg’s waterfront will hit the market in the next few weeks. The project is a JV between frequent partners LIVWRK and the Kushner Cos, and contains a total of 338 units.
Interestingly, the building, at 148 Kent Ave, also has some architectural chops, which you don’t often see in former warehouses, the New York Times reports.
The building was designed in 1915 by Cass Gilbert, who also designed the Alexander Hamilton US Custom House, the Woolworth Building and the US Supreme Court.
The lobby will include a 500 SF green wall, and amenities will include a large common room with a kitchen, as well as a soundproofed “jam room” for musicians, a gym and a children’s playroom.
The project joins several other residential developments cropping up on along Williamsburg’s waterfront, like Douglaston Development’s 40-story tower at 2 North 6th St and Elliot Spitzer’s 16-story tower at 416-418 Kent, among others. [NYT]
