Midtown Tower Will Have Parks in the Sky
A new matchstick-thin residential tower at 12 East 37th St. will have five common areas that’ll be more more like parks than the club floor of your standard luxe condo building. Perkins+Will is designing it, and NY design director Robert Goodwin tells Bloomberg it’ll be kind of like a West Village street in the sky. NYC zoning generally doesn’t restrict height on buildings with itty-bitty footprints like this one, so Nef, the Turkish developer behind the project, had no trouble fitting in the 33-ft-high “parks.” [Bloomberg]
