Cobble Hill Association: Get Your Towers Outta Here
Fortis unveiled plans last night at a meeting of the Cobble Hill Association for a project that would include two as-of-right 44-story residential towers amid brownstone-laden Cobble Hill. If there’d been rotten tomatoes handy, they may well have flown at the presenters. “80% of the people in this room are attorneys and they will be up your a– every step of the way,” The Brooklyn Paper quoted an attendee as saying. The developer also pitched a second plan with slightly lower buildings, which might sit better with residents of the largely landmarked neighborhood, but it would require more (not less) public review. The $240M sale of the site hasn’t closed yet, despite a target close date of April 30. It’s not known yet whether we’re talking condos or rentals. [BKP]
