An Inside Look at 4 WTC’s Specs
Bisnow’s guests for our multifamily event last week just couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous, expansive, 360-degree views from our venue, the 54th floor of Silverstein’s 2.5M SF 4 WTC, the first new WTC building to open when it delivered in November. Seems there were more iPhone pictures being taken than in Times Square.
While there, we snapped Elias Matar, Carrie Snyder, and Rich Garlock from Leslie E. Robertson Associates, the structural engineers for the building. Rich tells us Silverstein Properties was really keen on architect Fumihiko Maki’s vision for column-free corners to take advantage of the view, so Leslie E. Robertson made it happen with 40-foot cantilevers and achieved an 80-foot column-free span along the windows in the middle.
