You Can't Take the Cost-Benefit Analyst Out of the Guy
Over cappuccino at Pershing Square Cafe recently, Cresa's Kent Holliday told us he used his professional skills as a location-search consultant for his own recent residential move. Seeking the community and convenience the West Village offered once upon a time (where have all the bodegas gone?), he checked out LIC, Williamsburg, and elsewhere in Brooklyn but landed in Jersey City. (Even he didn't see that coming.) He gets a view of the west side of Manhattan, a super-simple commute to Midtown East that involves a daily look at progress on the Calatrava-designed PATH station Downtown (a huge plus for the former architect), and easy access to all the Manhattan neighborhoods he still loves.
