A+E Networks Is Moving To BFC Partners And Brownstoner Development’s 1000 Dean Street
A+E Networks has signed a 12k SF lease at 1000 Dean St (pictured), BFC Partners and Brownstoner Development’s Crown Heights property. With the deal, A+E will be the first major broadcasting company to open offices in Central Brooklyn.
The facility will have studios and office space spread across the ground and second floors. A+E plans to build a multi-platform content-creation hub, called 45th & Dean, to expand its digital content, social media outreach, brand development and outreach efforts.
BFC Partners principal Don Capoccia called A+E’s move “a game-changer for growing Brooklyn’s economy” and a sign that 1000 Dean has become “one of the city’s most vibrant creative hubs.” Other tenants of the space include D’Addario; the Brooklyn Community Foundation; and BERG’N, a 9k SF food and beer hall operated by the founders of Smorgasburg.
Since 2014, BFC and Browstowner have leased a majority of the 150k SF former Studebaker Service Station. The two bought the property in 2012 in a JV with Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group. A+E signed its lease last week, and 45th & Dean is expected to open next year.
