MTA, HRA Renew And Expand For 300k SF In Long Island City

The Metropolitan Transit Authority is re-upping and expanding its office space in Long Island City.

The transit authority signed a lease that will grow its footprint at Vornado’s 33-00 Northern Blvd in the Queens neighborhood by 17k SF, bringing its total space there to 152k SF, the New York Post reports.

Asking rents at the building, also called the Center Building, tick in around $40 per SF.

The MTA is preparing to hand over its Madison Avenue HQ buildings to Brookfield Property Partners to be redeveloped. The city’s Human Resources Administration also signed a deal to renew for about 150k SF at the Queens building.

Glenn Weiss and Josh Glick repped Vornado in-house on both deals. Cushman & Wakefield's Josh Kuriloff and Jodi Roberts repped the MTA, and the HRA did its deal directly with Vornado. [NYP]
